This film focuses on digital addiction and its purpose is to show people that excessive use of digital technology can be harmful. We as a society are so reliant on their personal online devices to the point where we live through them, and the virtual world replaces their real one. My film, ‘Affliction’ aims to initiate conversation on the matter by presenting an abstract, dystopian narrative on the subject of digital control. The concept is derived from research into wealth disparity and the ever increasing presence of digital technology in the modern world. My target audience are people most affected by social media; Young adults aged 18-25 who are able to respond to the subject matter and perhaps adjust their social media habits after viewing the work.
